Your electric fleet: get started in 4 steps
A successful transformation to e-mobility requires careful planning and implementation. Our 100-strong team of experts at MAN Transport Solutions is on hand to help you transition to a sustainable electric fleet and will support you at every step of the way, from initial consultation through to full fleet conversion. The heart of this concept is the MAN 360° e-mobility consultation, which is perfectly tailored to complement other familiar MAN services, such as the financing consultation. In the four steps outlined below, we get you ready to enter the world of e-mobility.
Initial tailored analysis of the possibilities for electrifying your fleet based on example routes and general conditions.
Detailed analysis of your entire network and development of an e-mobility evaluation strategy.
Development of a charging solution for your electric fleet in close cooperation with our partners.
Cost optimisation through ongoing adjustments, taking into account all relevant changes in your transport network.
360° e-mobility consultation: comprehensive expertise, intelligent solutions
From range analysis to charging infrastructure concepts and specialist training, together we will steer your fleet towards e-mobility.
Range calculation and consumption
- Analysis of the current routes
- Definition of the key factors that influence the range (such as charging, topography, auxiliary consumers, weather conditions)
- Simulation of the possible range in various scenarios
Network analysis/route planning
- Simulation of your route planning with electric vehicles and adaptation of vehicle routes where required
- Composition of the optimal fleet mix of traditional and electric vehicles for your company
- Analysis of potential carbon saved by converting to e-mobility
- Cost-effectiveness analysis
Charging infrastructure concept
- Simulation of various charging schedules for your fleet:
- Definition of the charging infrastructure needs
- Development of a tailor-made charging strategy - Concepts for installing the charging infrastructure at the depot
- Scenarios involving public charging
Charging and energy concept
- Definition of the expected energy consumption based on the route plan
- Creating and checking concepts for safe energy supply, e.g. avoiding load peaks
- Definition of an energy strategy that considers potential for optimisation with respect to electricity use and company requirements as a concept for your electricity supplier
Fleet conversion
- Development of a long-term plan for complete conversion of the fleet to electric vehicles
- Determination of the power needs and the required development for the charging infrastructure in order to enable early planning of more major construction work and to request more power connections from the supplier
- Structuring of cost-effectiveness calculations and investment plans to correspond to long-term support programmes
Services and training
- Consultancy with respect to the adaptation of workshop equipment and processes
- Concepts for safety training and courses for the safe handling of high-voltage systems
- Support with the definition of technology and driving training courses for your employees

FAQs: Frequently asked questions about fleet electrification
From costs and funding options to charging infrastructure and energy plans, here you will find answers to some of the most common questions.
MAN offers a wide range of electric vehicles, such as electric trucks, buses and vans. These have all been specially developed to meet a wide range of requirements, from a comfortable ride for passengers to efficient goods transport.
The higher procurements costs of an electric truck are offset by cheaper energy prices compared to diesel. Savings on congestion charges, carbon tax, service costs and potential rebates through new energy levies such as the greenhouse gas reduction quota (GHG quota) should also be factored in. Depending on the circumstances, TCO parity can be reached in as little as 4 years. We would be pleased to calculate your TCO for you (TCO calculator), as well as the target freight rate with a MAN eTruck.
Yes, because when purchasing an electric truck, it is necessary to plan the use of the vehicle and the appropriate charging infrastructure 1–2 years in advance in order to ensure efficient operation and the lowest possible investment costs. If your requirements are more complex, the 360° consultation concept from MAN Transport Solutions is available as an enhancement to the basic consultation.
That depends on your needs. With your own charging infrastructure, you will be able to adapt charging times and capacities to the needs of your fleet and will not be reliant on public charging stations. In the long term, you can reduce costs because charging at your own charging station – including in combination with photovoltaic systems – is often cheaper than at public charging stations due to lower energy prices.
